Discovering your Voice

Make a Difference: Produce a PSA (Public Service Announcement)

Ilyana Kadushin and James Harrell created this workshop and piloted it with Salisbury University’s Youth Innovation Academy for middle school students ages 9-14).

Over the course of this class, students were guided through the process of choosing a topic/issue and bringing it from script to screen, culminating in a 1 minute video.

This class utilizes:
Mindfulness meditation exercises, public speaking, script writing, sight and sound design and creating videos using the latest technologies.

This class is available for all ages.

Bridge the Generations

An online 2 part workshop for the Youth Innovation Academy (middle and high school ages).
Focus: What does it take to create a great interview with someone who is older than you?

In Part One students engaged in a group chat and exercises that set them up to plan and lead their own interview with a family or community member who is one generation older than their parents.

In Part Two they will share the outcomes of these interviews using material from the interview they conducted.

How your Voice Impacts your Professional Presence with Ilyana Kadushin

An online workshop for adult professionals. In the current state of the world, all your business is being done online in virtual meetings. This presents the challenge of using our voice and our presence to communicate effectively, without being in person with those we are speaking with.

This interactive workshop looks at:

  •  How do our own views of our voice impact our voice and what it transmits?
  •  How does that feedback we have received over the years about our voice encourage or inhibit us?
  •  What are the gray areas and uncharted territories of our voice?

Social Progress, Social Consciousness and Social Media

For groups of young artists and students. For younger generations, social media is their link to their community, but what about the world at large? And what are they putting into the mix? Junk? Or Gold? In this workshop we make “Say it to the World” PSA Videos  using: creative writing, public speaking techniques, video and music. Young artists want to belong, and feel heard. So what stops them? Not others,  their thoughts.   We explore why to be a mindful artist today and what is their CALL TO ACTION.
